Michael's News "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away"
Martin Luther King

This is "Great Videogame moments in History", where we look at those little moments in videogame history which make being a gamer so fun. The moments which stay with you, the same way that you remember your first kiss, your first day at college or the last time you met a friend.

Before I moved into my own house, as I trawled through some old boxes in my Nana's house, I ended up pulling out a tattered old note pad, on the cover was a crudely drawn picture of Mario fighting Sonic. It was my old cheat book! Some of you might not be old enough to remember a time before the internet, but before the internet, cheats and secrets for games spread through word of mouth and monthly magazines. The one page which caught my eye was a page filled with complex joy pad combinations. I looked at the page and thought "Level Select?"… but which game? And then I remembered…

Michael's News : Bitter and Twisted? Yup! What about it?

Michael's News Well Christmas was great, the party in Whitby was fun, the "Mike Show" was in town and I cussed and swore my way through Chris's party, telling stories about Wayne and running amok in Whit... Whit... Whitttt... flowersby wearing a Luchadore mask. My Christmas Eve party also went well, in ture Michael party fashion, people got drunk and it was very memorable, Parkinson and all! I also enjoyed my neighbour telling Kav that he "ruined" Christmas! LOL @ Kav!

I've spent the last three days sitting in shorts, eating chicken, drinking beer and watching kick ass DVDs, thus far I've watched all the Scrubs, My Wife and Kids, three ROH shows, the 1995 Royal Rumble and god knows what else... This truely is the life...

I was trawling through the archives, looking for a post I wrote about some one I used to go to uni with and I pulled up a few great gems... had me giggling away, so I thought I'd pull them together for the front page...

I'm very aware of how certain people seem to have a habit of finding and reading my ramblings, which is why most of my stuff is now written under a pseudo name on another site, after all I'm now a "professional" so my inane rantings about life, people and Wayne have to be written somewhere else. The perfect example of my I now do this, occured when I first returned to University, one lecture back after a 14 month break, I wrote this little piece in my news section... (I thought I'd be safe writing on Joyeux.Biz, I didn't intend on mentioning the site to any one...)

PE is good firstly because it's done with Jeff Buckles and secondly because it's actually a practical lesson, there's something different about playing Football, Mongrel and Netball in lessons, or my personal favorite so far has to be making games of our own to play. The other great thing about this lesson is Girls running. It's hard to explain in words but it's kinda like the "walking like an Egyptian dance" crossed with "some of that deep shoulder action" from Sister Act; it's so unbelievable funny at times. The other stereotypes of girls being unable to throw and catch ring true for 90% of the class, with the other "very competitive, bordering on psychopathic evil" 10% doing everything in their power to crush anyone who stands in their way. Being given a dead leg last week and almost having my short ripped off yesterday being good examples.

Then I got an email from some girls who were on my course, who were in that lecture, they found my site through Google... Oh dear...

They said in so many words that they weren't impressed. Sometimes I have to laugh.

Out loud.

However, girls running is still one of the funniest things that you’ll ever see. I know I’m not exactly at the peak of physical conditioning but I do the typically male thing of looking like I know what I’m doing when I exercise, even when I don’t.

Then I found a discussion about "why there are no nice looking people in York" started by Esther, this was while I wasn't living in York, so that'd explain the lack of pretty looking things. After all, some one like me drags up the average...

Michael's News : Weird thoughts...

Sitting quietly in front of the computer, listening to a lovely selection of podcasts and marking Science SAT papers. Kinda regretting making the kids sit 3 papers in one day...

...A Morning of quietly marking in exchange for an evening marking 70+ SAT papers...

Then suddenly I am struck with a moral and spiritual dilemma!

I've begun to start eating bagels for breakfast, being a poor NQT I've been unable to purchase Salmon and creamed cheese every day or even brie, walnut and grape! So I've been having Bagels with Ham and Tomato!

Ham? On Bagels?

That definitely isn't Kosher! Feeling guilty...

Or is that guilty feeling because I'm posting on here instead of marking papers?

Michael's News Pass and move! Don't hesitate! Shoot! Pass! Tackle! Don't do that! Do this! Argh! Please for heaven's sake! Oh dear! Not again!

I look up as the small and tricky ruffian runs past me, I run after him and try to shoulder barge him into the wall, he merely shrugs me off, turns and buries another shot deftly into the back of the net. Various shouting and screaming occur between everyone concerned, it's almost hopeless, I pick up the ball and put it back onto the centre spot, we kick off and it all goes the proverbial tits up again... We're like some kinda mock team; we all know what we're supposed to be doing but we don't! It reminded me of the ditty story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody. There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it. Somebody got angry because it was Everybody's job. Everybody thought Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Somebody wouldn't do it. It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done. But we aren't bottom of the league, so that counts for something...

And I scored!

Here's to next week!

We're like the football equivalent of Wayne's taste in movies. Bikini Bandits? What the? Girls in Bikini's kill Southern American Rednecks? With the same goofy guy in all the scenes? Gay Clown Bandits? To be honest I think there is a market on some random cable channel for not only Wayne's crap movies but watching Wayne watch movies. I can honestly image Wayne sitting in his room, by himself just laughing like a maniac as a roller skating dog goes over a water fall...

...on DVD

Then again, maybe he watches them in absolute silence.

Which to be honest that would be even funnier.
